There's now no doubt that good bacteria that reside in our digestive tract are inextricably linked to wellbeing and good health. But what influence does the gut have on perimenopause symptoms?
This week I'm joined by registered nutritionist and health writer Emma Bardwell to find out.
Emma specialises in women's health and has a particular interest in menopause and perimenopause and is a member of the British Menopause Society. Her evidence-based, no nonsense approach has made her one of the go-to names in women's health.
In this episode we also talk about the sensitive subject of fat loss at perimenopause, something I've felt nervous talking about because for me, body positivity comes first. However, fat loss is a subject both Emma and I get asked about all the time so it needs to be discussed!
As well as her one-to-one clinic in London, Emma also runs Menopause In The Workplace sessions. She has also co-authored the book The Perimenopause Solution which brings together her own specialist expertise alongside that of medical doctor Dr Shahzadi Harper.
